June-July 2008 I would like to share with you my summer experience at a Russian Orphanage. Although it has little to do with court reporting, I have worked as a court reporter in Juvenile Court and there you learn the ins-and-outs of our system for children who end up in abusive situations with nowhere to go. I saw, firsthand, the situations that parents would find themselves in due to drugs, alcohol, abuse, and many other situations that befall us in the United States. This summer I learned a little bit of what happens to the children in Russia in similar circumstances.
